COURSE OBJECTIVE

Risk Assessment Techniques will give you insight into the whole process of Risk Management. The use of Risk Analysis and Risk Control techniques to manage risks are illustrated using practical examples. This will enable the Senior Manager, Risk Manager, Senior Engineer and Safety Officer to establish a cost effective Risk Management process.

This course will give the student a clear understanding of which risk analysis technique to apply to a specific problem and how to determine all the pathways which may result in a specific incident.

    • Incident investigations
    • Root cause analysis

Emphasis is placed on the integration of the abovementioned techniques, with practical work in applying these techniques during risk assessment and root cause analysis in order to identify all the possible pathways for an incident to occur, so that the most effective control measures can be put in place. COURSE LEADER

The course is conducted by Dr Hennie Minnaar who has extensive experience in risk assessment and consequence modeling, gathered over a period of more than 35 years and who was also instrumental in the development of this course. As Managing Director of BIRA, he is also involved in consulting and training regarding risk assessment. In his career he has been involved in more than 500 risk assessments covering more or less every aspect of the manufacturing, mining, process and retail industries. This experience is also reflected in the course.

COST

The cost of the course is R9 500.00.00 (nine thousand five hundred  rand) excluding VAT. This includes the course manual and handouts plus coffee, tea and lunch. This course is also conducted in-house at a fixed amount of R75 000.00 (seventy five thousand rand) excluding VAT, plus R600.00, excluding VAT, per delegate for course stationery, material and course certificate. Maximum twenty delegates. Travelling and accommodation excluded.
